I found a video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e3pjd6fMmSw&ab_channel=CedarCrest) where the director of an academy (Cedar Crest) talks briefly about the importance of acceleration in young kids. I thought it was interesting to share the video because the way she talks gives away that she is interested in the benefits of each individual kid. She puts great emphasi on the importance of the needs of each kid, of making a plan of acceleration specifically for every one of them so they can, ultimately, find their own potential. I liked this view because it shows it's not just about finding a kid with giftedness and accelerate them in order to not waste potential, it's about finding the potential in each kid, in a personalized manner.
For me, this video is important because I think everyone has their weaknesses and strenghts, it's not just about kids who clearly have problems or who clearly are gifted, it's about helping everyone find those mentioned strenghts and not letting the weaknesses get the best of you.
